All of our wood used in the Africa Modern collection is sustainably sourced and hand carved by the best artisans in East Africa. Often taking months to carve, each piece is unique.
“The Brotherhood” is a series of Handsome lions Carved in Ebony by Silas Macharia from Nyeri Central Kenya. He specializes in Cats and captures perfectly the strength and nobility of these magnificent predators. Inspired by his time studying Lions in the Maasai Mara, Silas named his sculptures after different areas of this beautiful reserve.
